Venom CoLab - Snake

The snake team’s goal is to find a new treatment to help make blood clot. This group learns about how platelet cells, a protein called fibrin, and a protein called von Willebrand Factor work together to make blood clots. People with von Willebrand Disease don’t have enough von Willebrand Factor in their body, so are at risk of severe bleeding. A protein from snake venom can help form blood clots to prevent excess bleeding. This group’s material is inspired by research on the protein Bitiscetin.

After purchasing seats, teachers are able to select the roles for each student and the organism for each group. If you would like your students to focus on treatment to help make blood clot, please select Snake for the organism.
