2017 Conferences Kickoff!

Here in New York City, we are still having snow and ice, but one of our favorite parts of spring is the beginning of conferences and conventions. The Killer Snails team were fortunate to join the Ligo Project conference March 4th and 5th. The Ligo Project is a community of life scientists, artists, computer scientists, engineers, investors, supporting companies and entrepreneurs creating economically viable and sustainable solutions to hard life science problems. We heard from some incredibly interesting people such as Harvey Seifter, Art of Science Learning Founder and Director, and Daniel Kohn, an Artist in Residence at the Center for Epigenomics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Bronx, NY.  who recently founded the Art Science Observatory, a new organization dedicated to enabling research across Art and Science.

Next we were lucky enough to have a table at the Big Apple Con March 11th thanks to Playcrafting. We met hundreds of people who stopped by to play, learn more about venomous marine snails and show off some pretty amazing costumes!  We met Captain America, a family of both heroes and villains and generally had a pretty amazing time. 

Looking forward, please come see us March 26th at the Museum of the Moving Image for a screening of Love Lives of Sea Creatures: Films by Jean Painlevé, Isabella Rossellini, and Roberto Rossellini with Dr. Mandë Holford! We will also be at the American Museum of Natural History's game night March 31st.
